Let’s get something straight right now. This is not a blog.
Blogs are self-serving, self-righteous, self-published,
self-involved, self-centered, and obviously unedited.
Our essays, on the other hand, are edited.

“We’ve all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the works of Shakespeare.
Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.”

— Robert Wilensky

In June 2006, The Colbert Report featured a segment on how many monkeys it would take to produce various works. This was in response to comments in the news on monkeys typing out the Bible or the Qur’an. According to Colbert, it would take a million monkeys typing for all eternity to produce a work of Shakespeare, while ten thousand (drinking) monkeys typing for ten thousand years would produce a work of Hemingway, and ten monkeys typing for three days would produce a work of Dan Brown (author of such masterpieces as Deception Point and The DaVinci Code).
